InXs Concert – fiasco!!

Saturday morning commeth (11:30 AM) and everyone in great spirits… Ajith coming down from TVM, Anwin already here from vellore for some “test” he said, and the rest of the bangalore gang.

 After a little bit of a scuffle over the remaining OH of yesterday, we decided to head out for an early matinee and landed up in a place called “Shivas” we asked for Mr. Peter Scott, who was our hero the last time we went to a concert and I lost my brand new 6235! but an offspring of Seagrams was the next best thing that they had.

After a couple of good conversations with the son of Mr. Seagram, Renie texts us from Chennai saying that the concert was cancelled!! hah! a poor and sad attempt to frighten me!! he he I had to calm Naveen down though, he was visibily a bit rattled and wanted to check and be for sure..then the text wars began with Renie and he finally gave up and called his bluff.

At about 4 we decided we had enough of a chat with that son of a seagram and headed off to styx..we dont know how we got there but we did. HoneyKing was there and Ajith had slyly slithered off to one of his “appointments”..I dont remember who I had a chat with in Styx..but we hassled the DJ (venky) so bad that he was playing all the songs we wanted to hear and none that he wantd to play.

Ajith returns bloody eyed..he still says it was from the bloody mary..but I have my doubts! he he. 6:00 PM and time to leave..we had to catch the front row so we could create some havoc! I dont remember driving..I think Thenraj did..I dont think he drove so well..i remember feeling a bit queasy..

We hit the concert area and my old heavy meta pal Spike(Rajeev) is waiting for us and after a few greeting obscenities we move on..Houdini anwin manages to smuggle one son of seagram inside while abhilash fails miserably ( I think he had to give the guard, head later, so they wouldnt put him in jail)

INSIDE THE CONCERT!!! I think everyone tried to grope Ajith and he felt violated and went in the corner to sulk for a couple of minutes, with ThenRaj adding fuel to fire. we dont know how many hours went by and then we slowly made our way to the front of the stage. Anwin was leading the way and promised to take us to the front, but third row was all we could reach.

The band comes on stage!!!!!! JD walks up and they start suicide blonde!!! It was electric! myself, Naveen, Anwin and Abhilash in one group and Ajith, Thenraj and Spike missing (they probably didnt want to be associated with us..the cads!!!!) Nevertear us apart was simply fantastic!!! the bass was just echoing through the air vibrant..JD had some energy and even jumped into the crowd..I almost caught his shirt!! hell that anwin should have done better getting us to the front he he. picks, drumsticks and shawls etc came flying into the crowd..man I think I was lucky to see it come..by the time seagram in my brain reacted to that, it was in somebody elses pocket!

We were going haywire in there and all the guys thought we were mad and all the girls thought we were just plain obscene ( hey what did they expect in a rock concert?..slow waltz???) and a few disgusting looks and we were still jumping, arms failing about like butchers making pork chops. Myself and Naveen were banging the same old dude, but I think Naveen enjoyed it more..he he

End of concert..so we didnt think..they came back for an encore..showmansip it seems! Played 4 more songs and we were good to go home..Had food at fanoose and empty wallets later we went home and crashed..with Abhilash sitting in front of the computer on the sly again..

Woke up next day to find out that my neck was independent of the body and my head felt like someone used it for a bean bag…read a shocking truth in the morning paper..apparantly JD had a sore throat and wasnt singing too loud or sometimes, at all!!!

Moral of the story :- Sore throat or not.. If you are with us , Rock concerts will be Rock concerts!!!!
